     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1914 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the First World War.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Rifle Brigade.¹ He graduated from Balliol College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1917 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Royal Naval Volunteer Reserve.¹ He was a director of Charles Skipper and East Ltd at London, England^G.¹ He was the joint headmaster between 1937 and 1958 at Wagner’s School, South Kensington, London, England^G.¹ He lived in 1965 at Greenbank, Liphook, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     Reverend Henry Thomas Bowlby was born on 15 June 1864.¹ He was the son of Rt. Rev. Henry Bond Bowlby and Catherine Salmon.¹ He married Annie Margaret Gedge, daughter of Reverend William Wilberforce Gedge, on 8 August 1889.¹ He died on 8 February 1940 at age 75.¹

     Catherine Salmon was the daughter of Thomas Salmon.¹ She married Rt. Rev. Henry Bond Bowlby, son of Captain Peter Bowlby and Elizabeth Haslewood, on 29 September 1852.¹ She died on 22 January 1875.¹
     From 29 September 1852, her married name became Bowlby.¹

     Annie Margaret Gedge was the daughter of Reverend William Wilberforce Gedge.¹ She married Reverend Henry Thomas Bowlby, son of Rt. Rev. Henry Bond Bowlby and Catherine Salmon, on 8 August 1889.¹ She died on 18 July 1949.¹
     From 8 August 1889, her married name became Bowlby.¹
