     He was educated at Edinburgh University, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Blues and Royals Regiment.¹ He held the office of Member of the Legislative Assembly [Northern Ireland] between 2009 and 2015, for South Antrim.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Ulster Unionist) for South Antrim in 2015.¹

     Giles Redmayne was born on 27 September 1746 at Ingleton, Yorkshire, England.¹ He married Agnes Grace Tunstall on 21 May 1781 at Bentham, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Agnes Grace Tunstall was born in 1754.¹ She married Giles Redmayne on 21 May 1781 at Bentham, Yorkshire, England.¹ She died in 1824 at Ireby Parish, Cumberland, England.¹ She was buried on 9 March 1824 at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England.¹
     From 21 May 1781, her married name became Redmayne.¹

     Reverend John Marriner was born on 20 April 1805 at Ingleton, Yorkshire, England.¹ He was the son of William Marriner and Jane Redmayne.¹ He married Mary Haslewood, daughter of Reverend Dickens Haslewood and Elizabeth Boulby, on 18 April 1831 at Darlington, County Durham, England.¹ He died on 21 May 1876 at age 71 at Settle, Yorkshire, England.¹

     Mary Haslewood was born on 28 August 1804 at Darlington, County Durham, England.¹ She was the daughter of Reverend Dickens Haslewood and Elizabeth Boulby.¹ She married Reverend John Marriner, son of William Marriner and Jane Redmayne, on 18 April 1831 at Darlington, County Durham, England.¹ She died on 23 February 1892 at age 87 at Durham, County Durham, England.¹
     From 18 April 1831, her married name became Marriner.¹

     Elizabeth Boulby was born in 1759 at North Shields, Northumberland, England.¹ She married Reverend Dickens Haslewood on 15 February 1787 at Tynemouth, Northumberland, England.¹ She died on 1 July 1825.¹
