Lieutenant John Heaton-Armstrong1 
He was given the name of John Armstrong at birth.2 He succeeded as the Lord of the Manor of Roscrea [feudal baron] in 1835.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Austrian chirassiers and Walmoden Dragoons.1 He declined the honours of the Count of the Austrian Empire and of the Imperial Chamberlain.1 His name was legally changed to John Heaton-Armstrong when he assumed the additional surname and arms of Heaton, his great grandmother’s surname, by Royal Licence.1
