     Rt. Hon. John Armstrong was born in 1732.¹ He was the son of Colonel William Armstrong and Mary Heaton.¹ He married Letitia Greene, daughter of Abraham Greene, on 17 July 1770.¹ He died in 1791.¹
     He He raised and kept a troop of horse in the King’s service, and for this and other services was twice offered a baronetcy, which honour he declined. It was finally arranged that he should be created a Peer under the title of Baron Dunamace in Ireland. The Patent was lodged at the Hanaper Office, but he died suddenly before the Patent had passed the Great Seal.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He was appointed Privy Councillor (P.C.) (Ireland) in 1789.¹ He lived at Mount Heaton, Ballyskennagh, County Offaly, Ireland^G.¹

     Letitia Greene was the daughter of Abraham Greene.¹ She married Rt. Hon. John Armstrong, son of Colonel William Armstrong and Mary Heaton, on 17 July 1770.¹

     Elizabeth Mary Armstrong was the daughter of Rt. Hon. John Armstrong and Letitia Greene.¹ She died in 1780.¹

     William Henry Armstrong was born on 21 June 1774.¹ He was the son of Rt. Hon. John Armstrong and Letitia Greene.¹ He married Bridget Macdonnell, daughter of Lt.-Col. Charles MacDonnell and Bridget Bayly, on 7 April 1809.¹ He died on 21 September 1835 at age 61.¹
     He was the Lord of the Manor of Roscrea, County Tipperary, Ireland^G.¹ He refused the Peerage destined for his father.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.)¹ He voted against the Union of England and Ireland.¹ He lived at Mount Heaton, Ballyskennagh, County Offaly, Ireland^G, which he sold in 1817.¹ He retired to the Continent.¹ He gained the title of Lord of the Manor of Roscrea [feudal baron].² He sold his estates in Fermanagh, Limerick, and Tipperary Counties, and in England, (a total of 133,460 acres), in 1834.¹
