Maj.-Gen. Henry Charles Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, 7th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow was born on 29 May 1910.1 He was the son of Reverend Charles Edward Hovell-Thurlow-Cumming-Bruce, 6th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow and Grace Catherine Trotter.1 He died on 29 May 1971 at age 61, unmarried.1
He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England.1 He was educated at Royal Military College, Sandhurst, Berkshire, England.1 He was Aide-de-Camp to High Commiissioner and Commander-in-Chief of Palestine between 1936 and 1939.1 He was admitted to Royal Company of Archers.1 He was Assistant Military Secretary, Palestine between 1939 and 1940.1 He fought in the Second World War, in the Middle East and North-West Europe, and was mentioned in dispatches.1 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the 1st Battalion, Gordon Highlanders.1 He was awarded the Companion, Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.) in 1944 and bar (1945.)1 He succeeded as the 7th Baron Thurlow of Thurlow, co.
