     Sir William Thornycroft was born on 9 March 1850 at St. Pancras, London, England.¹ He was the son of Thomas Thornycroft and Mary Francis.¹ He married Agatha Cox in 1884 at Tunbridge Wells, Kent, England.¹ He died on 18 December 1925 at age 75.¹
     Sir William Thornycroft also went by the nick-name of Hamo.¹ He was a sculptor.¹ He was appointed Knight Bachelor in 1917.¹

     Sir Guy Bracewell Smith, 3rd Bt. was born on 12 December 1952.¹ He was the son of Sir George Bracewell Smith, 2nd Bt. and Helene Marie Hydock.² He died in 1983.¹
     He was educated at Harrow School, Harrow, London, England.¹ He succeeded as the 3rd Baronet Smith, of Keighley, co. York [U.K., 1947] on 18 September 1976.¹

     Eileen Mary Smith was born on 22 March 1911.¹ She is the daughter of Sir Bracewell Smith, 1st Bt. and Edith Smith Whitaker.³ She married, firstly, F/Lt. Harry Lascelles Carr, son of Sir Emsley Carr and Jenny Lascelles Carr, in April 1933.¹ She married, secondly, Major James Shelley Phipps Armstrong, son of Joseph E. Armstrong, on 9 September 1948.¹
     From April 1933, her married name became Carr. From 9 September 1948, her married name became Armstrong.¹
