He fought in the Battle of Agincourt on 25 October 1415.1 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) circa 1419.1 He held the office of Captain of Harfleur from 1421 to 1422.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Household to King Henry V.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.)1 He held the office of Chamberlain to King Henry VI.1 He was created 1st Lord Bardolf [England by writ] on 13 November 1437, although his name does not appear on the list of Peers summoned to Parliament on 26 September 1439.1 He lived at Erpingham, Norfolk, EnglandG.1 He lived at Dennington, Suffolk, EnglandG.1
Any peerage granted to him would have become extinct on his death.2

Thomas Bardolf, 5th Lord Bardolf1

He succeeded as the 4th Lord d’Amorie [E., 1317] on 29 January 1386. He succeeded as the 5th Lord Bardolf [E., 1299] on 29 January 1385/86.1 In 1405 he joined the Earl of Northumberland in his rebellion, and with him fled to Scotland.2 On 4 December 1406 he was declared a traitor, and his peerages were forfeited.2 He fought in the Battle of Bramham Moor on 19 February 1407/8, where he was defeated and mortally wounded.2 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.3

After her marriage, Lady Joan Stafford was styled as Viscountess Beaumont before 4 March 1461. Her marriage to William de Beaumont, 2nd Viscount Beaumont was annulled before 1477.1 From circa 1477, her married name became Knyvett.1

Maj.-Gen. Lord Michael Fitzalan-Howard was born on 22 October 1916.4 He was the son of Bernard Edward Fitzalan-Howard, 3rd Baron Howard of Glossop and Mona Josephine Tempest Stapleton, Baroness Beaumont.4 He married, firstly, Jean Marion Hamilton-Dalrymple, daughter of Sir Hew Clifford Hamilton-Dalrymple of North Berwick, 9th Bt. and Ann Dorothea Dyce Nicol Thorne, on 4 March 1946.4 He married, secondly, Jane Margaret Newman, daughter of Captain William Patrick Meade Newman, on 20 April 1950.4 He married, thirdly, Victoria Winifred Russell, daughter of Colonel Reginald Edmund Maghlin Russell and Dorothy Barrington Crake, on 2 July 1997.1 He died on 2 November 2007 at age 91.5
He was educated at Ampleforth College, Ampleforth, Yorkshire, England.4 He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England, in 1938 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)4 He fought in the Second World War, in North-West Europe, where he was mentioned in despatches.4 He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1944.4 He fought in the Palestine Campaign between 1945 and 1946.4 He fought in the Malayan Emergency between 1948 and 1949.4 He was appointed Member, Order of the British Empire (M.B.E.) in 1949.4 He gained the rank of Major-General in the Scots Guards.4 He was appointed Member, Royal Victorian Order (M.V.O.) in 1952.4 He was appointed Commander, Order of the British Empire (C.B.E.) in 1962.4 He was Commander of the Mobile Force, Allied Command, Europe between 1964 and 1966.4 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1968.4 He was Major-General of the Household Division between 1968 and 1971.4 He was appointed Knight Commander, Royal Victorian Order (K.C.V.O.) in 1971.4 He was Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps between 1972 and 1981.4 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Wiltshire between 1974 and 1993.4 In 1975 he was granted the rank of a duke’s younger son. He was Gold Stick-in-Waiting between 1979 and 1999.6 He was Colonel of the Life Guards between 1979 and 1999.6 He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.) in 1981.4 He held the office of Marshal of the Diplomatic Corps in 1982.6 He held the office of Extra Equerry to HM Queen Elizabeth II in 1999.4
