     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Air Force.¹

     Hon. Dorothy Elizabeth Smith was the daughter of Frederick Henry Smith, 1st Baron Colwyn and Elizabeth Ann Savage.² She married Alan George Boumphrey, son of Arthur Burrows Boumphrey, on 20 July 1910.¹ She died on 7 May 1958, leaving issue.¹

     Hermione Sophia O’Bryen Hoare was born on 27 February 1910.² She was the daughter of Cyril Bertie Edward O’Bryen Hoare and Isabel Mary Fielder.^1,2 She married Frederick John Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Colwyn, son of Hon. Frederick Henry Hamilton Smith and Hilda Ross, on 18 July 1952.¹ She and Frederick John Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Colwyn were divorced in 1954.¹ She died in 1989.²
     After her marriage, Hermione Sophia O’Bryen Hoare was styled as Baroness Colwyn on 18 July 1952. From 18 July 1952, her married name became Smith.¹

     Cyril Bertie Edward O’Bryen Hoare was born on 29 September 1882.² He was the son of Edward Senior Hoare and Sophia Elizabeth Hird.² He married Isabel Mary Fielder, daughter of Edward Fielder, on 24 October 1907.² He died on 16 January 1940 at age 57.²
     He lived at d’Avigdor House, Hove, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Miriam Gwendoline Ferguson was the daughter of Victor Bruce Ferguson.² She married Frederick John Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Colwyn, son of Hon. Frederick Henry Hamilton Smith and Hilda Ross, on 21 December 1940.¹ She and Frederick John Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Colwyn were divorced in 1951.¹ She died on 8 January 1996.¹
     From 21 December 1940, her married name became Smith. After her marriage, Miriam Gwendoline Ferguson was styled as Baroness Colwyn on 26 January 1946.

     Beryl Walker was the daughter of Harvey Walker.¹ She married, firstly, Edward Chorley Cookson before 1954.¹ She married, secondly, Mortimer Philip Reddington, son of Martin William Reddington and Annie Sullivan, before 1955.¹ She married, thirdly, Frederick John Vivian Smith, 2nd Baron Colwyn, son of Hon. Frederick Henry Hamilton Smith and Hilda Ross, on 8 January 1955.¹ She married, fourthly, Sir George Taylor in 1969.¹ She died in 1987.¹
