Robert Makgill, 2nd Viscount of Oxfuird1 
He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Makgill [N.S., 1627] on 5 May 1663.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Viscount of Oxfuird [S., 1651] on 5 May 1663.1 He succeeded as the 2nd Lord Makgill of Cousland [S., 1651] on 5 May 1663.1 In July 1689 he was incarcerated in Edinburgh Castle and the following month discharged but banned from Edinburgh for eight years and eventually placed under house arrest at Cranston Riddell, all for for conspiring as a Jacobite.1 On his death, his peerages became dormant.1
