Sir Alexander Mackenzie1 
Sir Alexander Mackenzie was born on 28 June 1842 at Dumfries, Dumfries-shire, Scotland.3 He was the son of John Robertson Mackenzie and Alexandrina Christie.3 He married, firstly, Georgina Louisa Bremner, daughter of Colonel W. Bremner, in 1863.3 He married, secondly, Mabel Elizabeth Elliot, daughter of Ralph Elliot, in August 1893.1,3 He died on 10 November 1902 at age 60 at Radnor, Holme St. Mary, Surrey, England.1,3
He was appointed Companion, Order of the Star of India (C.S.I.) in May 1886.3 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of the Star of India (K.C.S.I.) in 1891.3 He held the office of Lieutenant-Governor of Bengal between 1895 and 1898.3

He succeeded as the 5th Baron Farrer, of Abinger, co. Surrey [U.K., 1893] on 24 January 1954.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Farrer [U.K., 1883] on 24 January 1954.1 On his death his titles became extinct.1
