Lt.-Col. Sir Andrew Cathcart, 4th Bt. was born circa 1742.1 He was the son of Sir John Cathcart, 2nd Bt. and Elizabeth Kennedy.1 He died in 1828.1 His will was proven (by probate) in August 1828.1
He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Cathcart, of Carleton, co. Ayr [N.S., 1704] in March 1783.1 In 1792 he claimed the Culzean estates of his maternal uncle, Earl of Cassillis, but only received the estates settled on Sir John Kennedy, 3rd Bt.1
