     Sir Edward Broughton, 2nd Bt. was baptised on 30 January 1660/61 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir Edward Broughton, 1st Bt. and Mary Knightley.¹ He died on 11 June 1718 at age 57, unmarried.¹ He was buried on 14 June 1718 at Marchwiell, Denbighshire, Wales^G.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered to Aquila Wyke, nephew by the brother on the mother’s side, and next of kin on 5 May 1738, where he styled as baronet.¹
     He succeeded as the 2nd Baronet Broughton, of Marchwiell, co. Denbigh [E., 1665] circa June 1665, if a baroentcy was actually created.¹ He held the office of Sheriff of Denbighshire from 1697 to 1698.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy, to the extent one existed, became extinct.¹

     Sir James Broun, 1st and last Bt. died circa 1670.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Broun, in the island of Barbadoes [Scotland] on 17 February 1663/64.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Sir Patrick Broun of Colstoun, 1st Bt. was born circa 1630.¹ He was the son of James Broun of Colstoun and Anna Heriot.¹ He married, firstly, Alison Sinclair, daughter of James Sinclair.¹ He married, secondly, Jean Ramsay, daughter of John Ramsay.¹ He died in 1688.¹
     He was created 1st Baronet Broun, of Coulston, co. Haddington [Nova Scotia] on 16 February 1685/86, with special remainder to all heirs male whatsoever.¹ He held the office of Sheriff Depute of Haddington.²

     James Broun of Colstoun was the son of George Broun of Colstoun and Euphemia Hoppringle.^2,3 He married Anna Heriot, daughter of Robert Heriot, 8th of Trabroun and Elizabeth Dundas, in 1625. He died in 1669.¹
     He lived at Colstoun, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     Anna Heriot is the daughter of Robert Heriot, 8th of Trabroun and Elizabeth Dundas.^1,2 She married James Broun of Colstoun, son of George Broun of Colstoun and Euphemia Hoppringle, in 1625.
     From 1625, her married name became Broun.¹

     Robert Heriot, 8th of Trabroun was the son of James Heriot, 7th of Trabroun and Isabel Maitland.² He married Elizabeth Dundas, daughter of John Dundas of Newliston.² He died in 1620.²
     He lived at Trabourn, Haddington, East Lothian, Scotland^G.¹

     George Broun was the son of James Broun of Colstoun and Anna Heriot.¹ He married Margaret Murray, daughter of Sir David Murray of Stanhope. He died in 1657, without male issue.¹
