     John Maxwell of Monreith, younger was the son of William Maxwell and Margaret McCulloch.2 He married Margaret Agnew, daughter of Sir Andrew Agnew of Lochnaw, 2nd Bt. and Lady Anne Stewart, in 1656.1 He died in 1668 at Ireland.2
