     He was educated at Thetford School, Thetford, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He was educated at Bury School, Bury, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He matriculated at Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, on 16 April 1678.¹ He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1682 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1685 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He was the Rector between 1692 and 1745 at Gillingham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 6th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] circa July 1724.¹

     Elizabeth Taverner is the daughter of Edward Taverner.¹ She married Rev. Sir Charles Castleton, 6th Bt., son of William Castleton and Sarah Sidney, in 1693.¹
     From 1693, her married name became Castleton.¹

     Edward Taverner lived at St. Olave’s Abbey, Herringfleet, Suffolk, England^G.¹

     Sir Charles Castleton, 7th Bt. was the son of Rev. Sir Charles Castleton, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Taverner.¹ He died on 22 October 1749, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 7th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] in September 1745.¹

     Sir John Castleton, 8th Bt. was born circa 1698 at Gillingham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He was the son of Rev. Sir Charles Castleton, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Taverner.¹ He died on 7 November 1777, without issue.¹
     He was educated at Woodbridge School, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He matriculated at Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in October 1715.¹ He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1720 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was the Vicar between 1722 and 1777 at Gorleston, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He was the Vicar between 1725 and 1777 at Hopton, Shropshire, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] on 22 October 1749.¹

     Sir William Castleton, 9th Bt. was born circa 1701.¹ He was the son of Rev. Sir Charles Castleton, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Taverner.¹ He died on 16 January 1788 at Hingham, Norfolk, England^G.¹
     He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] on 7 November 1777.¹

     Sir John Castleton, 10th Bt. was the son of Sir William Castleton, 9th Bt.¹ He died on 11 June 1788, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 10th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] on 16 January 1788.¹

     Sir Edward Castleton, 11th Bt. was born circa 1706 at Gillingham, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He was the son of Rev. Sir Charles Castleton, 6th Bt. and Elizabeth Taverner.¹ He died on 15 October 1794.¹
     He was educated at Beccles School, Beccles, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He was educated at Woodbridge School, Woodbridge, Suffolk, England^G.¹ He matriculated at Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1725.¹ He graduated from Caius College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1729 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was the Rector between 1761 and 1794 at Thornham cum Holme, Norfolk, England^G.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] on 11 June 1788.¹

     Sir Edward Castleton, 12th Bt. was the son of Sir Edward Castleton, 11th Bt.¹ He died on 17 November 1810, without issue.¹
     He succeeded as the 12th Baronet Castleton, of St. Edmondsbury, co. Suffolk [E., 1641] on 15 October 1794.¹ He lived at Lynn, Norfolk, England^G.¹
     On his death, his baronetcy became extinct.¹

     Sir Hugh Cathcart, 1st Bt. was the son of Hugh Cathcart and Grizel Agnew.¹ He married unknown daughter Broun, daughter of Sir Patrick Broun of Colstoun, 1st Bt., in 1695.¹ He died in March 1723.¹
     In 1689 he garrisoned Ardmillan and raised a troop of Fencibles in Carrickshire.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Ayrshire [Scotland] between 1702 and 1707.¹ On 19 December 1703 he had charter of the barony of Carleton.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Cathcart, of Carleton, co. Ayr [Nova Scotia] on 20 January 1704.¹
