     Emma Jan Smyth was the daughter of Reverend William Smyth.² She married Rt. Hon. Sir Stephen Cave, son of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock, in 1852.¹ She died on 13 November 1905.¹

     Sir Charles Daniel Cave, 1st Bt. was born on 17 September 1832.¹ He was the son of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock.² He married Edith Harriet Symonds, daughter of John Addington Symonds and Harriet Sykes, on 1 September 1859.¹ He died on 29 October 1922 at age 90.¹
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Bristol in 1863.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Gloucestershire.¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Devon.¹ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.) of Gloucestershire.¹ He was a director of the Union of London and Smith’s Bank Ltd.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Cave, of Sidbury Manor, Devon [U.K.] on 21 July 1896.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon in 1898.¹

     Frances Cave was the daughter of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock.² She married George Lyall in 1855.¹ She died in 1893.¹
     From 1855, her married name became Lyall.

     George Lyall married Frances Cave, daughter of Daniel Cave and Frances Locock, in 1855.¹ He died in 1881.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Whitehaven.¹ He lived at Headley, Surrey, England^G.¹

     John Addington Symonds was born on 10 April 1807 at Oxford, Oxfordshire, England.² He was the son of John Symonds.² He married Harriet Sykes, daughter of James Sykes, in 1834.² He died on 25 February 1871 at age 63.²
     He lived at Clifton, Bristol, England^G.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹ He was educated at Magdalen College School, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G.² He wrote the book Address on Knowledge, published 1846.² He wrote the book Sleep and Dreams, published 1851.² He wrote the book The Principles of Beauty, published 1857.² He was appointed Fellow, Royal College of Physicians, London (F.R.C.P.) in 1857.²
