Edward Henry Carson, Baron Carson1 
He was educated at Portarlington School, Portarlington, County Laois, IrelandG.1 He graduated from Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was admitted to King’s Inn, Dublin in 1877 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) [Ireland] in 1889.1 He held the office of Bencher of King’s Inn, Dublin in 1891.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General [Ireland] between 1892 and 1893.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Unionist) for Dublin University between 1892 and 1918.1 He was admitted to Middle Temple in 1893 entitled to practise as a barrister.1 He was appointed Queen’s Counsel (Q.C.) in 1894.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) [Ireland] on 25 April 1896.1 He was awarded the honorary degree of Doctor of Law (LL.D.) by Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG.1 He held the office of Bencher of the Middle Temple in 1900.1 He was appointed Knight in 1900.1 He held the office of Solicitor-General between 1900 and 1905.1 He was appointed Privy Counsellor (P.C.) on 11 December 1905.1 He held the office of First Lord of the Admiralty between 1916 and 1917.1 He held the office of Member of the War Cabinet between 1917 and 1918.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Belfast, Duncairn Division between 1918 and 1921.1 He was created Baron Carson, of Duncairn in County Antrim [U.K. Law Lord] on 1 June 1921.1 He held the office of Lord of Appeal in Ordinary on 1 June 1921.1 He held the office of Treasurer of the Middle Temple in 1922.1 He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.2
