     Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 4th Lord Napier of Merchistoun was born on 14 January 1669.¹ He was the son of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 3rd Bt. and Jean Napier.² He died on 9 June 1688 at age 19, unmarried.¹
     He succeeded as the 4th Baronet Nicolson, of Carnock, co. Stirling [N.S., 1637] on 20 January 1670.¹ He succeeded as the 4th Lord Napier of Merchistoun [S., 1627] in 1683.¹
     On his death, the Lordship of Napier passed to his maternal aunt Margaret, the Carnock estate passed to his paternal aunts and the baronetcy.¹

     Eleanor Nicolson is the daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 2nd Bt. and Lady Margaret Livingstone.² She married Sir John Shaw of Greenock, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Shaw of Greenock, 1st Bt. and Jean Mure.¹
     Her married name became Shaw.¹

     Sir John Shaw of Greenock, 2nd Bt. was the son of Sir John Shaw of Greenock, 1st Bt. and Jean Mure.² He married Eleanor Nicolson, daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 2nd Bt. and Lady Margaret Livingstone.¹ He died in 1702.¹
     He gained the title of 2nd Baronet Shaw.¹

     Isobel Nicolson is the daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 2nd Bt. and Lady Margaret Livingstone.² She married Sir James Dunbar of Mochrum, 1st Bt., son of Thomas Dunbar of Mochrum and Christian Ross, on 11 February 1679.¹
     She brought her husband the Plean estate.² From 11 February 1679, her married name became Dunbar.

     Gavin McKay married Nerys Anne Jones, daughter of John Llewellyn Jones and Marietza Anne Barnewall.¹

     Saeran Anne McKay was born in January 2003.² She is the daughter of Gavin McKay and Nerys Anne Jones.²

     James Hamilton of Ballencrieff was the son of Andrew Hamilton of Monktonhall.² He married Margaret Nicolson, daughter of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 2nd Bt. and Lady Margaret Livingstone.¹ He died after 19 July 1697.²

     Andrew Llewellyn Jones is the son of John Llewellyn Jones and Marietza Anne Barnewall.¹ He married Melissa Smith on 28 October 2006.¹

     Melissa Smith married Andrew Llewellyn Jones, son of John Llewellyn Jones and Marietza Anne Barnewall, on 28 October 2006.¹
     She lived at Corowa, New South Wales, Australia^G.¹ From 28 October 2006, her married name became Jones.¹

     Sir John Nicolson was born after 1629. He was the son of Sir Thomas Nicolson of Carnock, 1st Bt. and Isabel Henderson.² He married Sabina Colyear, daughter of Colonel Walter Colyear.¹ He died in 1683.¹
     He lived at Tillicoultrie, Scotland^G.¹
