     He matriculated at Trinity College, Dublin University, Dublin, County Dublin, IrelandG, on 9 July 1732.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portarlington between 1733 and 1760.1 He held the office of Governor of Queen’s County between 1750 and 1779.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Queen’s County between 1761 and 1768.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Portarlington between 1769 and 1770.1 He was created 1st Lord Dawson, Baron Dawson of Dawson’s Court, in the Queen’s County [Ireland] on 29 May 1770.1 He was created 1st Viscount Carlow, co.
