John Romilly, 1st Baron Romilly 
John Romilly, 1st Baron Romilly was born on 10 January 1802 at Bloomsbury, London, England.2 He was the son of Sir Samuel Romilly and Anne Garbett.3 He married Caroline Charlotte Otter, daughter of Rt. Rev. William Otter and Nancy Sadleir Bruère, on 22 October 1833 at St. Mark, Kensington, London, England.2 He died on 23 December 1874 at age 72 at Russell Square, London, England.2
He was a practising barrister-at-law in 1827.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bridport between 1832 and 1835.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Bridport between 1846 and 1847.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Devonport between 1847 and 1852.3 He held the office of Solicitor-General in 1848.3 He was appointed Knight in 1848.3 He held the office of Attorney-General in 1850.3 He held the office of Master of the Rolls in 1851.3 He was created 1st Baron Romilly, of Barry, co. Glamorgan [U.K.] on 3 January 1866.3
