Sir Thomas Esmonde, 1st Bt.1 
He was appointed Knight in 1628.3 He was created 1st Baronet Esmonde, of Ballynastragh, co. Wexford [Ireland] on 28 January 1628/29.3 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Enniscorthy, County Wexford from 1641 to 1642.3 He gained the rank of General of Horse in the Royalist Army.3

He succeeded as the 3rd Baron Caher [I., 1583] on 31 January 1626/27.1 On 6 June 1640 he had confirmation of the Manors of Caher.1 From 1641 to 1642 he was in arms with the Confederated Roman Catholic Irish.1
