     He gained the rank of Major-General in the Royal Artillery.1

     Thomas Francis Jeken Russell was born on 1 May 1828.1 He was the son of Maj.-Gen. Henry Charles Russell and Mary Ann Thorp.1 He married Emma Louisa Byde, daughter of Reverend R. J. P. Byde, on 28 February 1861.1 He died circa December 1865.1 He was buried on 22 December 1865.1
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 43rd Madras Native Infantry.1

     He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, EnglandG, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)1 He was a practising Advocate.1 He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)1 He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)1 He was admitted to the Royal Company of Archers.1

     General Sir Alexander Halkett was born on 20 September 1772 at Dunfermline, Fife, Scotland.2,3 He was the son of Sir John Wedderburn Halkett of Pitferrane, 4th Bt. and Mary Hamilton.1,2 He married Georgiana Sprowie, daughter of George Sprowie.4 He died on 24 August 1851 at age 78.4
     He was appointed Knight, Hanoverian Order (K.H.)1 He had three other sons and a daughter.4

     Mary Anna Halkett was the daughter of General Sir Alexander Halkett and Georgiana Sprowie.1,2 She married Alexander Leith of Freefield and Glenkindie, son of General Sir Alexander Leith of Freefield and Glenkindie and Maria Thorp, on 17 August 1843.1 She died on 17 November 1900.1
     From 17 August 1843, her married name became Leith.1
