Colonel John Buchan, 1st of Cairnbulg1

     Colonel John Buchan, 1st of Cairnbulg was the son of James Buchan, 8th of Auchmacoy and Margaret Seton.1 He died before November 1724.1
     He gained the rank of Colonel in the Williamite Army.1
     He had two other sons, both of whom died without issue.1

Thomas Buchan, 2nd of Cairnbulg1

     Thomas Buchan, 2nd of Cairnbulg was born in 1680.1 He was the son of Colonel John Buchan, 1st of Cairnbulg.1 He married, secondly, Hon. Mary Elphinstone, daughter of John Elphinstone, 8th Lord Elphinstone and Isabel Maitland.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Grizel Hamilton, daughter of William Hamilton, 3rd Lord Bargany and Mary Primrose, on 15 February 1713.1 He died on 9 September 1761.1
     He was a practising advocate on 21 February 1705.1
     He had two other daughters by his first wife.1
