     Rev. Dr. Francis Rosslyn Courtenay Bruce was born on 14 August 1871.¹ He was the son of Reverend Lloyd Stewart Bruce and Jane Skene.¹ He married Rachel Gurney, daughter of Richard Hanbury Joseph Gurney and Sarah Evelyn Buxton, on 20 October 1908.¹ He died on 19 January 1956 at age 84.¹

     Richard Hanbury Joseph Gurney was born in 1855 at Caston, Norfolk, England^G.² He was the son of John Henry Gurney and Mary Jary Gurney. He married Sarah Evelyn Buxton, daughter of Sir Edward North Buxton, 2nd Bt. and Catherine Gurney, on 25 August 1881.³ He died on 6 May 1899.³
     He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)³ He held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)³ He lived at Northrepps Hall, Norwich, Norfolk, England^G.¹

     Rachel Gurney was born in 1887 at Hove, Sussex, England^G.² She was the daughter of Richard Hanbury Joseph Gurney and Sarah Evelyn Buxton.^1,2 She married Rev. Dr. Francis Rosslyn Courtenay Bruce, son of Reverend Lloyd Stewart Bruce and Jane Skene, on 20 October 1908.¹ She died in 1971.¹
     From 20 October 1908, her married name became Bruce.

     Merlin Bruce was born on 3 August 1909.¹ He was the son of Rev. Dr. Francis Rosslyn Courtenay Bruce and Rachel Gurney.¹ He married Marjorie Joan Hitchcock, daughter of William Percy Hitchcock, in 1932.¹ He died on 27 February 1999 at age 89.¹
