     Isla Clifton Brown was born on 19 December 1883.¹ She was the daughter of James Clifton Brown and Amelia Rowe.¹ She married, firstly, Reginald George Henderson, son of Robert Henderson and Emma Caroline Hargreaves, on 9 May 1911.¹ She married, secondly, Colonel Charles Hemsley, son of Reverend Charles Hemsley, on 31 August 1920.¹ She died on 5 February 1971 at age 87.¹
     From 9 May 1911, her married name became Henderson.¹ From 31 August 1920, her married name became Hemsley.¹

     Reginald George Henderson was born on 11 August 1883.² He was the son of Robert Henderson and Emma Caroline Hargreaves.^1,3 He married Isla Clifton Brown, daughter of James Clifton Brown and Amelia Rowe, on 9 May 1911.¹ He died on 29 March 1917 at age 33, as a result of war injuries.¹
     He lived in 1908 at Chania, Chaniabridge, Kenya^G.⁴ He gained the rank of Serjeant in the East African Mounted Rifles.⁴ He fought in the First World War.¹

     Robert Henderson was born circa 1852 at Fulham, London, England^G.² He married Emma Caroline Hargreaves in 1878 at New Forest, Hampshire, England^G.²
     He lived at Sedgwick Park, Horsham, Sussex, England^G.¹

     Colonel Charles Hemsley was born in 1883.² He was the son of Reverend Charles Hemsley.¹ He married Isla Clifton Brown, daughter of James Clifton Brown and Amelia Rowe, on 31 August 1920.¹ He died on 23 November 1961.¹
     He was awarded the Distinguished Service Order (D.S.O.)¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in the Indian Army.¹

     Reverend Charles Hemsley lived at Thurleigh, Bedfordshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Bedford, Bedfordshire, England^G.¹

     Sir Alexander Hargreaves Brown, 1st Bt. was born on 11 April 1844 at Bellby Grange, Yorkshire, England^G.² He was the son of Alexander Brown and Sarah Benedict Brown.¹ He married Henrietta Agnes Terrell Blandy, daughter of Charles Ridpath Blandy and Mary Anne Symonds, on 5 January 1876 at Madeira, Portugal^G.³ He died on 12 March 1922 at age 77.³
     He gained the rank of Cornet in the 5th Dragoon Guards.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal) for Wenlock between 1868 and 1885.³ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) (Liberal Union) for Wellington between 1885 and 1906.³ He gained the rank of Honorary Colonel in the Lancashire and Cheshire Royal Garrison Artillery.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Lancashire.³ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.) for Surrey.³ He was created 1st Baronet Brown, of Broome Hall, Holmwood, Surrey [U.K.] on 5 January 1903.³

     Louisa Brown was the daughter of Alexander Brown and Sarah Benedict Brown.¹ She married Captain Alexander William Cobham, son of Alexander Cobham Cobham, on 18 September 1862.¹ She died on 18 September 1863.¹
     From 18 September 1862, her married name became Cobham.¹

     Captain Alexander William Cobham was the son of Alexander Cobham Cobham.¹ He married Louisa Brown, daughter of Alexander Brown and Sarah Benedict Brown, on 18 September 1862.¹ He died on 13 May 1913.¹
     He gained the rank of Captain in the 44th and 24th Regiments.¹ He lived at Shinford Manor, Berkshire, England^G.² He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)²

     Allan Winslow Stewart, 15th Chisholm of Appin was the son of John Stewart. He died in 1953.¹

     Grace Brown was the daughter of Sir William Brown, 1st Bt. and Sarah Gihon.¹ She married John Hargreaves on 15 February 1831.¹ She died on 5 January 1849.¹
     From 15 February 1831, her married name became Hargreaves.¹
