     Ludovic James Colquhoun Duff was born on 16 August 1889.¹ He was the son of Alan Colquhoun Duff and Bertha Hope Duff.¹ He married Isabella Ann Orr-Paterson, daughter of Charles Allen Orr-Paterson, on 28 October 1948.¹ He died on 17 February 1957 at age 67, without issue.²

     Isabella Ann Orr-Paterson was born circa 1883.² She is the daughter of Charles Allen Orr-Paterson.³ She married, firstly, Lt.-Cdr. Guy Blatherwick, son of Frederick Francis Blatherwick, on 2 October 1915 at St. Andrew’s Church, Paddington, London, England^G.^3,2 She married, secondly, Ludovic James Colquhoun Duff, son of Alan Colquhoun Duff and Bertha Hope Duff, on 28 October 1948.¹
     Isabella Ann Orr-Paterson also went by the nick-name of Sybil.³ From 2 October 1915, her married name became Blatherwick.³ From 28 October 1948, her married name became Duff.¹

     Jean Alison Mary Duff was born in 1893.¹ She was the daughter of Alan Colquhoun Duff and Bertha Hope Duff.¹ She died on 12 March 1894.¹

     James Duff Dunlop Duff was born on 20 November 1860.¹ He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Duff of Knockleith and Jane Bracken Dunlop.¹ He married Laura Eleanor Lenox-Conyngham, daughter of Colonel Sir William Fitzwilliam Lenox-Conyngham and Laura Calvert Arbuthnot, on 28 December 1895.¹ He died on 25 April 1940 at age 79 at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹
     He was educated at Fettes College, Edinburgh, Midlothian, Scotland^G.² He was a Fellow, specialising in Latin and Russian between 1883 and 1940 at Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Trinity College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1885 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)³

     Laura Eleanor Lenox-Conyngham was the daughter of Colonel Sir William Fitzwilliam Lenox-Conyngham and Laura Calvert Arbuthnot.² She married James Duff Dunlop Duff, son of Lt.-Col. James Duff of Knockleith and Jane Bracken Dunlop, on 28 December 1895.¹ She died on 22 January 1956.¹
     From 28 December 1895, her married name became Duff.¹

     Maj.-Gen. Alan Colquhoun Duff was born on 11 November 1896.¹ He was the son of James Duff Dunlop Duff and Laura Eleanor Lenox-Conyngham.¹ He married Diana Frances Crawley, daughter of Colonel Richard Parry Crawley and Alice Vida Mary Cochrane, on 14 February 1935.¹ He died on 4 November 1973 at age 76.^2,3
     He was educated at Wellington College, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was educated at Royal Military Academy, Woolwich, Kent, England^G.² He fought in the First World War.² He was awarded the Military Cross (M.C.) in 1916.¹ He gained the rank of Major in 1930.² He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in 1938.² He fought in the Second World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.² He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1941.¹ He gained the rank of Colonel in 1941.² He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1945.¹ He was awarded the Commander, U.S. Legion of Merit.¹ He gained the rank of Major-General in 1946 in the Royal Engineers.¹

     Diana Frances Crawley was born on 14 June 1905.¹ She was the daughter of Colonel Richard Parry Crawley and Alice Vida Mary Cochrane.¹ She married Maj.-Gen. Alan Colquhoun Duff, son of James Duff Dunlop Duff and Laura Eleanor Lenox-Conyngham, on 14 February 1935.¹ She died on 26 December 2002 at age 97.¹
     From 14 February 1935, her married name became Duff.¹
