     Sir Thomas Smijth, 8th Bt. was born on 6 February 1781 at Upper Grosvenor Street, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. and Anne Windham.¹ He died on 5 October 1833 at age 52 at Hill Hall, Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹ He died intestate and his estate was administered in October 1833.¹
     He was given the name of Thomas Smyth at birth.¹ He was educated between 1793 and 1796 at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ After 1796 his name was legally changed to Thomas Smijth.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 1 May 1823.¹

     William Smijth was born circa 1780.¹ He was the son of Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. and Anne Windham.¹ He died in 1802, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹
     He was given the name of William Smyth at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the West Essex Militia.¹

     Commander Sir John Smijth, 9th Bt. was born on 8 June 1782 at Upper Grosvenor Street, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. and Anne Windham.¹ He died on 9 December 1838 at age 56 at Woodmansterne, Surrey, England^G, unmarried.¹ He was buried at Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in December 1838.¹
     He was given the name of John Smyth at birth.¹ He gained the rank of Commander in the Royal Navy.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baronet Smith, of Hill Hall, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 5 October 1833.¹

     Sir Edward Bowyer-Smijth, 10th Bt. was born on 1 March 1785 at Margaret Street, Marylebone, London, England^G.¹ He was the son of Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. and Anne Windham.¹ He married Laetitia Cecily Weyland, daughter of John Weyland and Elizabeth Nourse, on 29 May 1813 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ He died on 15 August 1850 at age 65 at Hill Hall, Theydon Mount, Essex, England^G.¹ His will was proven (by probate) in October 1850.¹

Essex [E., 1661] on 9 December 1838.¹ On 10 June 1839 his name was legally changed to Edward Bowyer-Smijth by Royal Licence.¹

     Laetitia Cecily Weyland was born circa 1787.¹ She was the daughter of John Weyland and Elizabeth Nourse.¹ She married Sir Edward Bowyer-Smijth, 10th Bt., son of Sir William Smijth, 7th Bt. and Anne Windham, on 29 May 1813 at St. George’s Church, St. George Street, Hanover Square, London, England^G.¹ She died on 3 March 1868 at Thorpe Lee, Surrey, England^G.¹
     From 29 May 1813, her married name became Smijth. From 10 June 1839, her married name became Bowyer-Smijth.¹
