Robert Willoughby, 1st Lord Willoughby de Broke1 
He was appointed Knight before February 1472.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Cornwall between 1476 and 1479.2 He succeeded as the 9th Lord Latimer, of Corby [E., 1290] before August 1477, de jure.1 He succeeded as the 8th Lord Latimer, of Corby [E., 1299] before August 1477, de jure.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Devon from 1480 to 1481.2 Between 1483 and 1484 he was attainted and stripped of his lands for having supported the Duke of Buckinghamshire’s rising in Autumn 1483.2 He fought in the Battle of Bosworth on 22 August 1485, with the future of King Henry VII.2 He held the office of Receiver of the Duchy of Cornwall in September 1485.2 He was Steward of the Royal mines of precious metals of Devon and Cornwall in September 1485.2 He had his lands restored.2 He was Knight of the Body before December 1485.2 He held the office of Sheriff of Devon from 1487 to 1488.2 He held the office of Lord Steward of the Household between 1488 and 1502.2 He was joint commander of an expedition to Brittany against the French from 1488 to 1489.2 He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) circa 1489.2 He held the office of Joint Ambassador to Brittany in 1490.2 He gained the rank of Admiral of the Fleet in July 1490 in the against France.2 He was created 1st Lord Willoughby de Broke [England by writ] on 12 August 1491.2 On 12 August 1491 he petitioned Parliament to be recognised as Lord Latimer after writs of summons were issued to him and to the 1st Lord Latymer. The latter’s counsel argued that the Barony Latimer of Corby could not descend to heirs general including females (in contradiction to the convention since the 1700s.)1 He was Admiral of the Fleet in 1492, against France.2
