Lady Catherine Cecil was the daughter of James Cecil, 3rd Earl of Salisbury and Lady Margaret Manners.1 She married Sir George Downing, 2nd Bt. on 12 July 1683.1 She died on 13 August 1688.1
Her married name became Downing.

Lady Margaret Cecil was baptised on 16 April 1672.3 She was the daughter of James Cecil, 3rd Earl of Salisbury and Lady Margaret Manners.1,3 She married, firstly, John Stawell, 2nd Lord Stawell of Somerton, son of Ralph Stawell, 1st Baron Stawell of Somerton, in 1691.3 She married, secondly, Richard Jones, 1st and last Earl of Ranelagh, son of Arthur Jones, 2nd Viscount Ranelagh and Lady Catherine Boyle, on 9 January 1695/96.1 She died on 21 February 1727/28 at age 55.3
From 1691, her married name became Stawell. She gained the title of Dowager Baroness Stawell on 30 November 1692.1 From 9 January 1695/96, her married name became Jones. After her marriage, Lady Margaret Cecil was styled as Countess of Ranelagh on 9 January 1695/96.
