     William Quintal was born on 8 August 1891 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He was the son of John Matthew Patteson Quintal and Mary Louisa Quintal.¹ He married Ellen Louise Christian, daughter of Henry Samuel Hunt Christian and Alice Maude Christian, on 4 March 1915 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ He died on 9 August 1972 at age 81 at Norfolk Island^G.¹

     Ellen Louise Christian was born on 1 January 1888 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of Henry Samuel Hunt Christian and Alice Maude Christian.¹ She married William Quintal, son of John Matthew Patteson Quintal and Mary Louisa Quintal, on 4 March 1915 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She died on 8 August 1945 at age 57 at Norfolk Island^G.¹
     From 4 March 1915, her married name became Quintal.¹

     Beatrice Florence Quintal was born on 17 October 1913 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She was the daughter of William Quintal and Ellen Louise Christian.¹ She married Charles Frederick Bigg in 1938 at Norfolk Island^G.¹ She died on 5 September 1989 at age 75 at Norfolk Island^G.¹
     From 1938, her married name became Bigg.¹ She is pictured teaching her grandchildren how to plait palm leaves on page 534 of Howard: Pitcairn and Norfolk, National Geographic, Oct 1983.²
