     Hugh Rose, 15th of Kilravock was born in January 1663 at Innes, Morayshire, ScotlandG.1 He was the son of Hugh Rose, 14th of Kilravock and Margaret Innes.1,2 He married, firstly, Margaret Campbell, daughter of Sir Hugh Campbell, 5th of Cawdor and Lady Henrietta Stuart, on 19 October 1683.1 He married, secondly, Jean Fraser, daughter of James Fraser of Brea, in 1692.1,2 He married by contract, thirdly, Beatrix Cuthbert, daughter of George Cuthbert of Castlehill, on 19 June 1701.1 He married, fourthly, Elizabeth Calder, daughter of Sir James Calder, 1st Bt. and Grizel Innes, in 1704.1 He married, fifthly, Katherine Porteous, daughter of James Porteous, in 1730.1 He died on 23 January 1732.1
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) [Scotland]1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) in 1707.1 He held the office of Sheriff of Ross between 1715 and 1722.1 He fought in the Battle of Inverness on 12 November 1715, which he recaptured for King George I.1

     Donald ‘Dubh’ Macdonald was the son of Angus Macdonald, Master of the Isles and Lady Mary Campbell.1 He died in 1545 at Drogheda, County Louth, IrelandG.1
     He claimed the titles of Earl of Ross and Lord of the Isles, as well as the power to make treaties with England.1 Donald ‘Dubh’ Macdonald also went by the nick-name of Donald ‘Dubh’ (or in English, ‘the Dark.1‘)
