Robert Peter Fleming was born on 31 May 1907.¹ He was the son of Major Valentine Fleming and Evelyn Beatrice Sainte Croix Rose.^1,2 He married Dame Celia Elizabeth Johnson, daughter of John Robert Johnson and Ethel Griffiths, on 10 December 1935.¹ He died on 18 August 1971 at age 64 at Black Mount, Argyllshire, Scotland^G, while grouse shooting.¹
