Lt.-Col. Henry Gilbert Ralph Nevill, 3rd Marquess of Abergavenny was born on 2 September 1854.1 He was the son of William Nevill, 1st Marquess of Abergavenny and Caroline Vanden-Bempde-Johnstone.1 He married, firstly, Violet Streatfeild, daughter of Lt.-Col. Henry Dorrien Streatfeild and Marion Henrietta Smith, on 12 September 1876.1 He married, secondly, Maud Augusta Beckett-Denison, daughter of William Beckett-Denison and Hon. Helen Duncombe, on 20 October 1886.1 He married, thirdly, Mary Frances Nevill, daughter of Hon. Ralph Pelham Nevill and Louisa Marianne Maclean, on 18 October 1928.1 He died on 10 January 1938 at age 83, after being thrown from his horse while hunting.1
He gained the rank of Major in the Sussex Imperial Yeomanry.3 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Territorial Army Reserves (formerly West Kent Yeomanry.)3 He succeeded as the 7th Earl of Abergavenny, co. Monmouth [G.B., 1784] on 13 October 1927. He succeeded as the 3rd Earl of Lewes, Sussex [U.K., 1876] on 13 October 1927. He succeeded as the 7th Viscount Nevill, of Birling, Kent [G.B., 1784] on 13 October 1927. He succeeded as the 3rd Marquess of Abergavenny, co.
