He was commissioned in 1721 with the rank of ordinary seaman, in the service of the Royal Navy on H.M.S. Sea Horse.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant in 1731.2 He gained the rank of Post Captain on 6 February 1742/43.2 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July 1758.2 He gained the rank of Rear-Admiral of the Red on 14 February 1759.2 He gained the rank of Vice-Admiral of the Blue on 21 October 1762.2 He was Commander-in-Chief of the North America station in 1766.2

Sir Frederick Rogers, 5th Bt.1 
He held the office of Recorder of Plymouth.1 He succeeded as the 5th Baronet Rogers, of Wisdome, co. Devon [E., 1699] on 7 June 1777.1 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plymouth between May 1780 and 1784.1 His last will was dated 22 November 1783. He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plymouth between 1790 and 1797.1 He lived at Blachford, Cornwood, Devon, EnglandG.1
