Colonel Sir Charles Rosedew Forbes-Leith of Fyvie, 1st Bt.1 
He was given the name of Charles Rosedew Burn at birth.1 He fought in the Hazara Expedition in 1888, where he was mentioned in despatches.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Royal Dragoons.2 He fought in the Boer War in 1900.2 He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel and Honorary Colonel in the Imperial Yeomanry.2 He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Torquay between 1910 and 1923.2 He held the office of Aide-de-Camp to HM George V between 1910 and 1926.2 He fought in the First World War, where he was mentioned in despatches twice.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)2 He was awarded the Officier, Ordre national de la Légion d’honneur.2 He was created 1st Baronet Burn, of Jessfield, near Edinburgh, co. Midlothian [U.K.] on 7 March 1923.2 In 1925 his name was legally changed to Charles Rosedew Forbes-Leith by Royal Licence.1
