     He was a merchant at Plymouth, Devon, England^G.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Plymouth between 1698 and 1700.¹ He was created 1st Baronet Rogers, of Wisdome, co. Devon [England] on 21 February 1698/99.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Devon from 1701 to 1702.¹ His last will was dated 25 September 1708. He lived at Blachford, Cornwood, Devon, England^G.²

     John Rogers was born in 1627 at Messing, Essex, England^G.¹ He died after 1665.¹

     Mary Vincent was born circa 1643.² She was the daughter of Spencer Vincent.¹ She married, firstly, Sir John Rogers, 1st Bt., son of John Rogers and Elizabeth Payne, before 1676.¹ She married, secondly, Sir Edmund Prideaux, 4th Bt., son of Sir Peter Prideaux, 3rd Bt. and Lady Elizabeth Granville, on 5 September 1710 at St. Andrew’s, Plymouth, Devon, England^G.² She married, thirdly, Colonel John Arundell on 31 January 1722/23.² She died on 12 March 1722/23.² Her will was proven (by probate) on 21 March 1722/23.²
     From before 1676, her married name became Rogers.¹ From 5 September 1710, her married name became Prideaux.² From 31 January 1722/23, her married name became Arundell.² Her last will was dated 10 March 1722/23.

     Sir Edmund Prideaux, 4th Bt. was born in 1669.² He was the son of Sir Peter Prideaux, 3rd Bt. and Lady Elizabeth Granville. He married, secondly, Elizabeth Saunderson.² He married, firstly, Susannah Winstanley, daughter of James Winstanley. He married, thirdly, Mary Vincent, daughter of Spencer Vincent, on 5 September 1710 at St. Andrew’s, Plymouth, Devon, England^G.¹ He died on 6 February 1719/20.¹
     He gained the title of 4th Baronet Prideaux.¹

     Mary Henley was born circa 1683.¹ She was the daughter of Sir Robert Henley and Barbara Every.¹ She married Sir John Rogers, 2nd Bt., son of Sir John Rogers, 1st Bt. and Mary Vincent, on 9 May 1698 at St. Gile’s-in-the-Fields Church, London, England^G.¹ She died circa November 1760 at Exeter, Devon, England^G.¹ She was buried on 8 December 1760 at Cornwood, Devon, England^G.¹ Her will (dated 13 November 1753) was proven (by probate) on 23 June 1761.¹
     From 9 May 1698, her married name became Rogers.¹
