     Margaret Gordon was the daughter of Alexander Gordon.¹ She married Sir Alexander Bannerman, son of Thomas Bannerman and Jane Simpson, on 14 January 1824.¹ She died on 24 December 1878.¹
     From 14 January 1824, her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. was born on 16 December 1871.¹ He was the son of Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 10th Bt. and Anne Mary Brooke.¹ He married Joan Mary Harford, daughter of Frederic Dundas Harford and Amy Mary Josephine Stourton, on 12 May 1920.¹ He died on 10 March 1934 at age 62, without male issue.¹
     He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Engineer.¹ He was Lieutenant-Colonel of the 2nd/5th North Staffordshire Regiment.¹ He fought in the Boer War, where he was mentioned in dispatched.¹ He succeeded as the 11th Baronet Bannerman, of Elsick, co. Kincardine [N.S., 1682] on 3 December 1901.¹ He fought in the Russo-Japanese War between 1904 and 1905, with the Japanese Army during the siege of Port Arthur.¹ He gained the rank of Brevet Major.¹ He fought in the First World War.¹

     Joan Mary Harford was born in 1897.² She was the daughter of Frederic Dundas Harford and Amy Mary Josephine Stourton.^1,2 She married Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt., son of Sir George Bannerman of Elsick, 10th Bt. and Anne Mary Brooke, on 12 May 1920.¹ She died in 1983.²
     From 12 May 1920, her married name became Bannerman.¹

     Eve Mary Bannerman was born on 12 March 1921.¹ She is the daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. and Joan Mary Harford.¹ She married Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes, son of Major H. C. Symmes, on 27 January 1951.¹
     From 27 January 1951, her married name became Symmes.¹ She lived in 2003 at 39 Karu Crescent, Waikanae, New Zealand^G.¹

     Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes was the son of Major H. C. Symmes.¹ He married Eve Mary Bannerman, daughter of Lt.-Col. Sir Alexander Bannerman of Elsick, 11th Bt. and Joan Mary Harford, on 27 January 1951.¹ He died in 1991.¹
     Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes usually went by his middle name of Cecil.¹

     Major H. C. Symmes lived at Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G.¹

     Howard Alexander Symmes was born on 11 February 1954.¹ He is the son of Thomas Cecil Leyburn Symmes and Eve Mary Bannerman.¹ He married Jane Williams in 1989.¹
     He lived in 2003 at 5 Connaught Terrace, Brooklyn, Wellington, New Zealand^G.¹
