     Sir Joseph Barcroft was born on 26 July 1872.² He was the son of Henry Barcroft and Anna Richardson Malcomson.^1,2 He married Mary Agnetta Ball, daughter of Sir Robert Stawell Ball and Frances Elizabeth Steele, on 5 August 1903.² He died on 21 March 1947 at age 74.¹
