     William Edward Steele was Director of the Science and Art Museum, Dublin.¹ He graduated with a Doctor of Medicine (M.D.)¹

     Robert Steele Ball was born on 17 December 1869.¹ He was the son of Sir Robert Stawell Ball and Frances Elizabeth Steele.¹ He married Olga Sturge, daughter of John Edmund Sturge, on 2 September 1903.¹ He died on 23 July 1957 at age 87.¹
     He graduated from Boston University, Boston, Massachusetts, U.S.A.^G, with a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc.)¹ He was registered as a Associate Member, Institution of Civil Engineers (A.M.I.C.E.)¹ He graduated from Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Honorary Master of Arts (M.A.)¹

     Olga Sturge is the daughter of John Edmund Sturge.¹ She married Robert Steele Ball, son of Sir Robert Stawell Ball and Frances Elizabeth Steele, on 2 September 1903.¹
     From 2 September 1903, her married name became Ball.¹

     John Edmund Sturge lived at Birmingham, Warwickshire, England^G.¹ He lived at Montserrat^G.¹

     Robert Sturge Ball was born on 3 February 1909.¹ He was the son of Robert Steele Ball and Olga Sturge.¹ He married Kathleen Grant, daughter of Thomas Grant, on 13 May 1939.¹ He died on 30 July 1940 at age 31 at Ethiopia^G, killed in action.¹
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He graduated from King’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, with a Diploma of Agriculture.¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹

     Kathleen Grant was the daughter of Thomas Grant.¹ She married, firstly, Robert Sturge Ball, son of Robert Steele Ball and Olga Sturge, on 13 May 1939.¹ She married, secondly, David Edward Fielden, son of Lt.-Col. Edward Anthony Fielden and Phoebe Brand, on 17 September 1942.¹ She died on 1 July 1998.¹
     From 13 May 1939, her married name became Ball.¹ From 17 September 1942, her married name became Fielden.¹

     Thomas Grant lived at Silver Bridge, County Down, Ireland^G.¹

     Stella Elizabeth Ball was born on 4 June 1907.¹ She was the daughter of Robert Steele Ball and Olga Sturge.¹ She married Robert Ogle Barnes, son of Robert Samuel Wemyss Barnes, on 7 October 1943.¹ She died on 1 January 2011 at age 103.²
     From 7 October 1943, her married name became Barnes.¹
