     Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft was born on 4 May 1909.¹ He was the son of Sir Joseph Barcroft and Mary Agnetta Ball.¹ He married, firstly, Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright, daughter of Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright and Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings, on 17 March 1939.¹ He married, secondly, Helen Moreen Macdonald, daughter of Major James Victor Ferguson Macdonald, on 15 January 1959.¹ He died on 20 December 1988 at age 79.^2,3
     He was educated at Leighton Park School, Reading, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He graduated from Christ’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1930 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He fought in the Second World War.¹ He graduated from Christ’s College, Cambridge University, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, England^G, in 1946 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He retired from the military in 1948, with the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel, late of the Skinners Horse (1st DYO Lancers), Indian Army.¹ He held the office of Joint Master, Limurn Hunt between 1952 and 1958.¹ He held the office of President, Kenya Arts and Crafts Society between 1955 and 1957.¹

     Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright was the daughter of Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright and Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft, son of Sir Joseph Barcroft and Mary Agnetta Ball, on 17 March 1939.¹ She died on 1 August 1948.¹
     From 17 March 1939, her married name became Barcroft.¹

     Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright married Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings, daughter of Reverend Arthur Charles Jennings.¹
     He gained the rank of Lieutenant-Colonel in the Indian Defence Force.¹

     Hermione Louisa Fanny Jennings was the daughter of Reverend Arthur Charles Jennings.¹ She married Lt.-Col. Harry Durance Cartwright.¹

Robert Ball Barcroft and Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright.¹ She married Major John Craig Barrington-Ward, son of John Grosvenor Barrington-Ward and Diana Beatrice Eleanor MacFarlane, on 5 September 1973.¹ She died on 8 June 2018 at age 70.²
     She gained the rank of Captain in the Women’s Royal Army Corps (W.R.A.C.)¹ From 5 September 1973, her married name became Barrington-Ward.¹ She graduated with a Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D.)² She was appointed Fellow, Royal Society of Arts (F.R.S.A.)²

     Major John Craig Barrington-Ward was the son of John Grosvenor Barrington-Ward and Diana Beatrice Eleanor MacFarlane.^1,2 He married Dr. Anna Mary Hermione Barcroft, daughter of Lt.-Col. Robert Ball Barcroft and Betty Hermoine Durance Cartwright, on 5 September 1973.¹ He died on 4 July 2013.²
     He was a torchbearer at the London Olympics in 1948.² He was a sailor at the Helsinki Olympics in 1952.² He gained the rank of Major in the Royal Artillery.¹ As of 1976, Major John Craig Barrington-Ward lived at Hewshott Copse, Liphook, Hampshire, England^G.¹

     John Grosvenor Barrington-Ward was born on 26 December 1894.² He was the son of Reverend Mark James Barrington-Ward and Caroline Elizabeth Pearson.² He married Diana Beatrice Eleanor MacFarlane, daughter of John Embleton MacFarlane and Alice Eleanor Craig, on 30 June 1924 at St. James the Less, Westminster, London, England.² He died circa 10 June 1946.^2,3
