Dorothy Gertrude Arbuthnot was born on 20 January 1878 at London, EnglandG.1,2 She was the daughter of Colonel George Arbuthnot and Caroline Emma Nepean Aitchison.1 She married Brig.-Gen. Hugh Frederick Bateman-Champain, son of Colonel Sir John Underwood Bateman-Champain and Harriet Sophie Currie, on 3 February 1904.1 She died on 25 April 1957 at age 79.3
From 3 February 1904, her married name became Bateman-Champain.1
