     John Were Clarke was born in 1784.² He was the son of Richard Hall Clarke.³ He married Frances Carew, daughter of Sir Thomas Carew, 6th Bt. and Jane Smallwood, on 20 September 1810 at Tiverton, Devon, England^G.² He died in 1847.²
     He lived at Bridwell House, Devon, England^G.¹

     Sophia Vernon Powys was the daughter of Rt. Rev. Hon. Horatio Powys and Percy Gore Currie.^1,2 She married Reverend Boscawen Thomas George Henry Somerset, son of Reverend Lord William George Henry Somerset and Elizabeth Molyneux, on 14 November 1878.¹ She died on 5 April 1935.¹
     From 14 November 1878, her married name became Somerset.¹

     William Horace Boscawen Somerset was born on 7 November 1880.¹ He was the son of Reverend Boscawen Thomas George Henry Somerset and Sophia Vernon Powys.¹ He married Rubie Drummond-Nairne Warner, daughter of William Redston Warner, on 23 July 1921.¹ He died on 7 September 1946 at age 65.¹
     He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He gained the rank of Captain in the Monmouthshire Regiment.¹

     Rubie Drummond-Nairne Warner was born circa 1886.¹ She was the daughter of William Redston Warner.¹ She married William Horace Boscawen Somerset, son of Reverend Boscawen Thomas George Henry Somerset and Sophia Vernon Powys, on 23 July 1921.¹ She died on 27 December 1977.¹
     From 23 July 1921, her married name became Somerset.¹

     FitzRoy Douglas Boscawen Somerset was born on 19 November 1923.¹ He was the son of William Horace Boscawen Somerset and Rubie Drummond-Nairne Warner.¹ He married Sheila Jean Wilson, daughter of Dr. Douglas James Bowie Wilson, on 15 September 1962.¹ He died in 2019.²
     He was educated at Marlborough College, Marlborough, Wiltshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the King’s Shropshire Light Infantry.¹ He fought in the Second World War, where he was wounded.¹ He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1949 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)¹ He was in the Colonial Administration Serivce between 1950 and 1957 at Nigeria^G.¹ He graduated from Exeter College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, England^G, in 1957 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)¹ He held the office of Assistant Advisor to Aden between 1957 and 1968.¹ He was an assistant master at Duncan House School, Moffat and Cheam Schools between 1970 and 1986.¹ He lived in 1999 at Thackit Eaves, Highclere, Newbury, Berkshire, England^G.¹

     Sheila Jean Wilson was the daughter of Dr. Douglas James Bowie Wilson.¹ She married FitzRoy Douglas Boscawen Somerset, son of William Horace Boscawen Somerset and Rubie Drummond-Nairne Warner, on 15 September 1962.¹ She died on 9 March 2016.²
     From 15 September 1962, her married name became Somerset.¹

     Dr. Douglas James Bowie Wilson lived at Faringdon, High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Dr. Douglas William Boscawen Somerset was born on 22 May 1965.¹ He is the son of FitzRoy Douglas Boscawen Somerset and Sheila Jean Wilson.¹ He married Dr. Mary Joan Macleod on 29 June 1995.¹
