     Matilda Persse was born after 1793 at County Galway, IrelandG.2 She was the daughter of Henry Stratford Persse and Anne Sadleir.1,2 She married Burton de Burgh Persse, son of Burton Persse and Sarah Pennefather, on 4 November 1825 at Tuam, County Galway, IrelandG.2 She died on 23 June 1862.2
     Matilda Persse also went by the nick-name of Mattie.2

     Henry Stratford Persse was born circa 1769 at Roxborough House, County Galway, IrelandG.1 He was the son of William Persse and Sarah Blakeney.1 He married Anne Sadleir, daughter of Henry Sadleir and Martha Moore, on 29 November 1792 at IrelandG.1 He died on 26 October 1833 at Newcastle Lodge, County Galway, IrelandG.1
     He founded a distillery.2
