Christine McRae Sinclair was born on 24 September 1895.1 She was the daughter of William Sinclair.1 She married, firstly, Major Victor Albert Francis Charles Spencer, 1st Viscount Churchill, son of Francis George Spencer, 2nd Baron Churchill of Whichwood and Lady Jane Conyngham, on 29 August 1927 at St. Columba’s Church, Pont Street, London, EnglandG.3 She married, secondly, Lt.-Col. Ralph Heyward Isham, son of Henry Heyward Isham, on 12 June 1937.1 She and Lt.-Col. Ralph Heyward Isham were divorced in 1938.1 She married, thirdly, Sir Lancelot Oliphant, son of Arthur Craigie Oliphant and Agnes Mary Horton, on 6 November 1939.1 She died on 22 May 1972 at age 76.1
After her marriage, Christine McRae Sinclair was styled as Viscountess Churchill of Whichwood on 29 August 1927.1 From 29 August 1927, her married name became Spencer. From 12 June 1937, her married name became Isham.1 From 6 November 1939, her married name became Oliphant.1 She was awarded the Order of Leopold of Belgium.1

He was Acting 3rd Secretary at Constantinople in 1905.2 He was Acting 3rd Secretary at Teheran in 1909.2 He was Assistant Clerk, Foreign Office in 1916.2 In 1920 Acting Assistant Secretary.2 He was Acting Assistant Under-Secretary in 1928.2 He was appointed Companion, Order of the Bath (C.B.) in 1929.2 He held the office of Assistant Under-Secretary, Foreign Office between 1929 and 1936.2 He was appointed Knight Commander, Order of St. Michael and St. George (K.C.M.G.) in 1931.2 He held the office of Ambassador Extraordinary to Belgium in 1939.2 He held the office of Deputy Under–Secretary, Foreign Office in 1939.2 He held the office of Minister Plenipotentiary to Luxemburg in 1939.2 He was he was interred in Germany between 2 June 1940 and 27 September 1941.2

He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, EnglandG.2 He did his National Service as a Lieutenant in the Scots Guards between 1953 and 1955.2 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1958 with a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.)2 He was an investment manager with Morgan Grenfell between 1958 and 1974.2 He graduated from New College, Oxford University, Oxford, Oxfordshire, EnglandG, in 1966 with a Master of Arts (M.A.)2 He succeeded as the 3rd Viscount Churchill [U.K., 1902] on 21 December 1973.2 He succeeded as the 5th Baron Churchill of Whichwood, co. Oxford [U.K., 1815] on 21 December 1973.2 He was an investment manager with the Charities Official Investment Fund between 1974 and 1995.4 He was an investment manager with the Central Board of Finance, Church of England between 1974 and 1999.4 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.)3 On his death, his viscountancy became extinct.3
