     Arthur Craigie Oliphant was born on 20 February 1840.1 He was the son of Lt.-Col. James Oliphant and Sophia Ann Trewman.2 He married, firstly, Fanny Ross, daughter of Malcolm Ross.1 He married, secondly, Agnes Mary Horton, daughter of Rear-Admiral William Horton and Agnes Jane Jeddere-Fisher, on 22 February 1876.1 He died on 2 July 1920 at age 80.1
     He was with the Indian Political Service, and Private Secretary to Sir Salar Jung.1

Ida Mary Hazel Willoughby, daughter of Godfrey Ernest Willoughby, 10th Baron Middleton of Middleton and Ida Eleonora Constance Ross, on 31 August 1910.2 He died on 2 September 1934 at age 60.2
     He fought in the First World War.1 He gained the rank of Captain in the Royal Navy.2 He was appointed Officer, Order of the British Empire (O.B.E.) in 1919.1
