John Albert Edward William Spencer-Churchill, 10th Duke of Marlborough was born on 18 September 1897.1 He was the son of Charles Richard John Spencer-Churchill, 9th Duke of Marlborough and Consuelo Vanderbilt.1 He was baptised on 16 October 1897 at St. James’s Palace, Chapel Royal, St. James’s, London, EnglandG.1 He married, firstly, Hon. Alexandra Mary Hilda Cadogan, daughter of Henry Arthur Cadogan, Viscount Chelsea and Hon. Mildred Cecilia Harriet Sturt, on 17 February 1920 at St. Margaret’s Church, Westminster, London, EnglandG.1 He married, secondly, Frances Laura Charteris, daughter of Captain Hon. Guy Lawrence Charteris and Frances Lucy Tennant, on 26 January 1972.3 He died on 11 March 1972 at age 74.3
