     Carlotta Principessa di Savoia-Piedmonte was born on 11 November 1441.¹ She was the daughter of Ludovico I Duca di Savoia and Anne de Lusignan, Princess of Cyprus.^3,4 She married Louis XI, Roi de France, son of Charles VII, Roi de France and Maria d‘Anjou, on 9 March 1451 at Chambéry, France.¹ She died on 1 December 1483 at age 42.¹

     Charles VIII, Roi de France was born on 30 June 1470. He was the son of Louis XI, Roi de France and Carlotta Principessa di Savoia-Piedmonte.¹ He married Anne de Dreux, Duchesse de Bretagne, daughter of François II de Dreux, Duc de Bretagne and Marguerite de Foix, on 6 December 1491 at Langeais, France^G. He died on 7 April 1498 at age 27 at Amboise, Bourgogne, France^G. He was buried at Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France^G.
     He was a member of the House of Valois.¹ Charles VIII, Roi de France also went by the nick-name of Charles ‘l’Affable’.¹ He succeeded as the Roi Charles VIII de France in 1483.¹

     Anne de Valois was born in April 1461. She was the daughter of Louis XI, Roi de France and Carlotta Principessa di Savoia-Piedmonte. She married Pierre II de Beaujeu, Duc de Bourbon, son of Charles I de Bourbon, Duc de Bourbon and Agnes de Bourgogne, in 1473.² She died in 1522.

     Renée de Valois was born in 1510.² She was the daughter of Louis XII, Roi de France and Anne de Dreux, Duchesse de Bretagne.² She married Ercole II d‘Este, Duca di Ferrara, son of Alfonso I d‘Este, Duca di Ferrara and Lucrezia Borgia, in 1528.² She died in 1575.²

     Maria von der Mark-Kleve was born on 19 September 1426. She was the daughter of Adolf I Graf von der Mark Herzog von Kleve und Graf van Ravensberg and Marie de Valois-Bourgogne.² She married Charles d‘Orléans, Duc d’Orléans, son of Louis de Valois, Duc d’Orléans and Valentine Visconti, on 6 November 1440 at St. Omer, France^G. She died on 10 July 1486 at age 59.¹

     Elizabeth Hardwicke was born on 27 July 1527.^1,3 She was the daughter of John Hardwicke.¹ She married, firstly, Robert Barlow, son of Arthur Barlow, in 1543.⁴ She married, secondly, Rt. Hon. Sir William Cavendish, son of Thomas Cavendish and Alice Smith, in 1547.¹ She married, thirdly, Sir William de St. Loe circa 27 August 1559.⁵ She married, fourthly, George Talbot, 6th Earl of Shrewsbury, son of Francis Talbot, 5th Earl of Shrewsbury and Mary Dacre, on 9 February 1568.⁶ She died on 13 February 1607/8 at age 80.¹
     Elizabeth Hardwicke also went by the nick-name of ‘Building Bess’.¹ Elizabeth Hardwicke also went by the nick-name of Bess of Hardwick.⁴ From 1543, her married name became Barley.⁴ From 1547, her married name became Cavendish. From circa 27 August 1559, her married name became St. Loe.⁵ After her marriage, Elizabeth Hardwicke was styled as Countess of Shrewsbury on 9 February 1567/68. From 9 February 1567/68, her married name became Talbot.
     She prevailed on her first husband, who died without issue, to settle his estate on her and her heirs, who were abundantly produced from her second marriage. Her third husband, who was very rich, was led by her persuasions to make a similar disposition of his fortune, to the utter predudice of his daughters by a former wife; and now, unsated with the wealth and caresses of three husbands, she finished her conquests by marrying the Earl of Shrewsbury, the richest and most powerful Peer of his time. To sum up her character, “she was a woman of a masculine understanding and conduct; proud, furious, selfish and unfeeling.”

     Anne de Dreux, Duchesse de Bretagne was born on 25 January 1476. She was the daughter of François II de Dreux, Duc de Bretagne and Marguerite de Foix.^2,1 She married, firstly, Charles VIII, Roi de France, son of Louis XI, Roi de France and Carlotta Principessa di Savoia-Piedmonte, on 6 December 1491 at Langeais, France^G. She married, secondly, Louis XII, Roi de France, son of Charles d‘Orléans, Duc d’Orléans and Maria von der Mark-Kleve, on 8 January 1499 at Chateau de Nantes^G. She died on 9 January 1514 at age 37 at Chateau de Blois^G. She was buried at Saint-Denis, Île-de-France, France^G.
     She gained the title of Duchesse de Bretagne.

     Catherine Prinzessin von Brandenburg-Küstrin was born on 10 August 1549. She was the daughter of Johann I Markgraf von Brandenburg-Küstrin and Katherine Herzogin von Braunschweig-Wolfenbüttel.¹ She married Joachim Friedrich Kurfürst von Brandenburg, son of Johann Georg Kurfürst von Brandenburg and Sophie Prinzessin von Liegnitz, on 8 January 1570. She died on 10 February 1602 at age 52.

     Hildegard of Vinzgau was born circa 757 at Aachen, Germany^G.¹ She was the daughter of Gerold I Graf von Vinzgau and Imma Prinzessin von Alemannien.¹ She married Charlemagne, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire, son of Pepin III, Roi des Francs and Bertha de Laon, circa 772 in a Aix-la-Chapelle, France marriage.¹ She died on 30 April 783 at Thionville, France^G.¹

     Charles (?) was the son of Charlemagne, Emperor of the Holy Roman Empire and Hildegard of Vinzgau. He died in 811.
