     Sir Grufudd ap Rhys was the son of Sir Rhys ap Thomas and Efa ap Henry.² He married Catherine St. John, daughter of John St. John, 2nd Baron Saint John of Bletso and Catherine Dormer, circa 1507.¹ He died on 29 September 1521.^1,3
     He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) in 1501.¹ In 1520 he was present at the Field of the Cloth of Gold.¹

     Catherine St. John is the daughter of John St. John, 2nd Baron Saint John of Bletso and Catherine Dormer.^2,3 She married, secondly, Sir Piers Edgcumbe, son of Sir Richard Edgcombe and Joan Tremayne.² She married, firstly, Sir Grufudd ap Rhys, son of Sir Rhys ap Thomas and Efa ap Henry, circa 1507.¹
     Her married name became Edgcumbe.²

     Elizabeth Attwood is the daughter of James Attwood.¹ She married Gamaliel Lloyd, son of George Lloyd and Susannah Horton, circa 1780.¹
     From circa 1780, her married name became Lloyd.¹

     Gamaliel Lloyd was the son of George Lloyd and Martha Whitaker.^1,2 He married Elizabeth Carte, daughter of John Carte.² He died in 1749.¹
     He was a merchant and manufacturer at Manchester, Lancashire, England^G.²

     George Lloyd was born in 1650.² He was the son of Gamaliel Lloyd and Anne Briggs.^1,2 He married Martha Whitaker.² He died in 1728.¹

     Griffith Rice was born in 1526.¹ He was the son of Rhys ap Griffith and Lady Katharine Howard.² He married Elinor Jones, daughter of Sir Thomas Jones, in 1541.¹ He died in 1592.¹
     He held the office of High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire between 1567 and 1583.¹ He held the office of Mayor of Carmarthen in 1571.¹ He lived at Newton, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G.¹

     Elinor Jones is the daughter of Sir Thomas Jones.² She married Griffith Rice, son of Rhys ap Griffith and Lady Katharine Howard, in 1541.¹

     Sir Walter Rice was born circa 1562.¹ He was the son of Griffith Rice and Elinor Jones.² He married Elizabeth Mansel, daughter of Sir Edward Mansel and Lady Jane Somerset.¹ He died circa 1636.¹
     He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthenshire from 1584 to 1585.¹ He held the office of High Sheriff of Carmarthenshire in 1586.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen in 1601.¹ He was appointed Knight in 1603.¹ He held the office of Member of Parliament (M.P.) for Carmarthen between 1604 and 1611.¹ He lived at Newton, Carmarthenshire, Wales^G.¹

     Mary Rice is the daughter of Griffith Rice and Elinor Jones.² She married Walter Vaughan.¹
