Willem II Frederik George Lodewijk Prins van Oranje-Nassau Koning der Nederlanden was born on 6 December 1792.1 He was the son of Willem I Frederik Prins van Oranje-Nassau Koning der Nederlanden and Wilhelmine Prinzessin von Preußen. He married Anna Pavlovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, daughter of Pavel I Petrovich Romanov, Tsar of Russia and Sophia Dorothea Prinzessin von Württemberg, on 21 February 1816 at Winter Palace, St. Petersburg, RussiaG.1 He died on 17 March 1849 at age 56.1
He succeeded as the King Williem II of the Netherlands on 7 October 1840.1 He succeeded as the Grand-Duc Guillaume II de Luxembourg on 7 October 1840.

He married, firstly, Sophie Friederike Mathilde Prinzessin von Württemberg, daughter of Wilhelm I König von Württemberg and Ekaterina Pavlovna Romanov, Grand Duchess of Russia, on 17 June 1839 at Stuttgart, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.1 He married, secondly, Adelheid Emma Wilhelmine Therese Prinzessin zu Waldeck und Pyrmont, daughter of Georg Viktor Prinz zu Waldeck und Pyrmont and Helene Wilhelmine Henriette Pauline Marianne Prinzessin von Nassau-Weilburg, on 7 January 1879 at Arolsen, Hessen, GermanyG.1 He died on 23 November 1890 at age 73.1
He succeeded as the Grand-Duc Guillaume III de Luxembourg on 7 March 1849. He gained the title of King Willem III of the Netherlands on 7 March 1849.1
