     Friedrich Christian Karl August Prinz von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg was born on 22 January 1831 at Augustenborg, Jylland, Denmark^G.¹ He was the son of Christian Karl Friedrich August Herzog von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Countess Luise Sophie von Danneskjold-Samsöe.¹ He married Helena Augusta Victoria Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom, daughter of Albert Prinz von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha and Victoria Alexandrina Hanover, Queen of the United Kingdom, on 5 July 1866 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.^2,1 He died on 28 October 1917 at age 86 at Schomberg House, Pall Mall, St. James’s, London, England^G.¹
     He gained the title of Prinz Christian von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg.¹

     Marie Louise Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg was born on 12 August 1872 at Cumberland Lodge, Windsor Park, Berkshire, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Friedrich Christian Karl August Prinz von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Helena Augusta Victoria Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom. She married Aribert Joseph Alexander Prinz von Anhalt, son of Leopold Friedrich I Franz Nikolaus Fürst von Anhalt and Antionette Charlotte Marie Jospehine Karoline Frida Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg, on 6 July 1891 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.³ She and Aribert Joseph Alexander Prinz von Anhalt were divorced in December 1900. She died on 8 December 1956 at age 84 at London, England^G.¹
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg. She was given the name of Franziska Josepha Louise Augusta Marie Christina Helena von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg at birth.¹ She was created HH Princess Marie Louise of the United Kingdom on 17 July 1917.⁴

     Aribert Joseph Alexander Prinz von Anhalt was born on 18 June 1864 at Wörlitz, Germany^G.² He was also reported to have been born on 6 June 1864 at Wörlitz, Germany^G. He was the son of Leopold Friedrich I Franz Nikolaus Fürst von Anhalt and Antionette Charlotte Marie Jospehine Karoline Frida Prinzessin von Sachsen-Altenburg.² He married Marie Louise Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg, daughter of Friedrich Christian Karl August Prinz von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg and Helena Augusta Victoria Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of the United Kingdom, on 6 July 1891 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.² He and Marie Louise Prinzessin von Schleswig-Holstein-Sonderburg-Augustenburg were divorced in December 1900. He died on 24 December 1933 at age 69.²

     Luise Margarete Alexandra Viktoria Agnes Prinzessin von Preußen was born on 25 June 1860 at Marmorpalais, Potsdam, Brandenburg, Germany^G.² She was the daughter of Friedrich Karl Nikolaus Prinz von Preußen and Marie Anne Prinzessin von Anhalt-Dessau. She was also reported to have been born on 25 July 1860. She married Arthur William Patrick Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 1st Duke of Connaught and Strathearn, son of Albert Prinz von Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha and Victoria Alexandrina Hanover, Queen of the United Kingdom, on 13 March 1879.³ She died on 14 March 1917 at age 56 at Clarence House, Stable York Road, St. James’s, London, England^G.² She was also reported to have died on 17 March 1917. She was buried at Frogmore House, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.
     She gained the title of Prinzessin von Preußen.¹

     Margaret Victoria Charlotte Augusta Norah Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of Connaught and Strathearn was born on 15 January 1882.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur William Patrick Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 1st Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and Luise Margarete Alexandra Viktoria Agnes Prinzessin von Preußen. She married Oskar Frederik Vilhelm Olaf Gustaf VI Adolf Bernadotte, King of Sweden, son of Oskar Gustaf V Adolf Bernadotte, King of Sweden and Sophie Marie Viktoria Prinzessin von Baden, on 15 June 1905.¹ She died on 1 May 1920 at age 38 at Stockholm, Sweden^G, complications as a result of an ear infection.¹

     Major-General Arthur Frederick Patrick Albert Windsor, Prince of Connaught was born on 13 January 1883 at Windsor Castle, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He was the son of Arthur William Patrick Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 1st Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and Luise Margarete Alexandra Viktoria Agnes Prinzessin von Preußen.³ He married Alexandra Victoria Alberta Edwina Louise Duff, 2nd Duchess of Fife, daughter of Alexander William George Duff, 1st Duke of Fife and Louise Victoria Alexandra Dagmar Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess Royal of the United Kingdom, on 15 October 1913 at St. James’s Palace, Chapel Royal, St. James’s, London, England^G.¹ He died on 12 September 1938 at age 55 at Belgrave Square, London, England^G.¹
     He was given the name of Arthur Frederick Patrick Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha at birth. He was appointed Knight, Order of the Thistle (K.T.)⁴ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Royal Victorian Order (G.C.V.O.)⁴ He was appointed Knight, Order of the Garter (K.G.) on 15 July 1902.⁵ He was appointed Knight Grand Cross, Order of St. Michael and St. George (G.C.M.G.)⁴ In 1917 his name was legally changed to Arthur Frederick Patrick Albert Windsor.¹ He held the office of Governor-General of the Union of South Africa between 1920 and 1924.³ He has an extensive biographical entry in the Dictionary of National Biography.⁶
     

     Victoria Patricia Helena Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of Connaught and Strathearn was born on 17 March 1886 at Buckingham Palace, St. James’s, London, England^G.¹ She was the daughter of Arthur William Patrick Albert Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, 1st Duke of Connaught and Strathearn and Luise Margarete Alexandra Viktoria Agnes Prinzessin von Preußen. She married Admiral Hon. Sir Alexander Robert Maule Ramsay, son of John William Ramsay, 13th Earl of Dalhousie and Lady Ida Louisa Bennet, on 27 February 1919 at Palace of Westminster, Westminster, London, England^G.^3,4 She died on 12 January 1974 at age 87 at Ribsden Holt, Windlesham, Surrey, England^G.⁵
     After her marriage, Victoria Patricia Helena Elizabeth Saxe-Coburg and Gotha, Princess of Connaught and Strathearn was styled as Lady Victoria Patricia Helena Elizabeth Ramsay by Royal Licence on 25 February 1919.⁴ She was awarded the Imperial Order of the Crown of India (C.I.)⁴ She was appointed Dame Grand Cross, Most Venerable Order of the Hospital of St. John of Jerusalem (G.C.St.J.)⁴
