     Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex was born on 21 February 1884.¹ He was the son of George Devereux de Vere Capell, 7th Earl of Essex and Ellenor Harriet Maria Harford.² He married, firstly, Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman, daughter of William Russell Stewart Freeman, on 28 September 1905.¹ He and Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman were divorced in 1926.¹ He married, secondly, Alys Montgomery Falkiner, daughter of Robert Hayes Falkiner, on 10 February 1926.¹ He and Alys Montgomery Falkiner were divorced in 1950.¹ He married, thirdly, Mildred Carlson on 10 December 1950.¹ He and Mildred Carlson were divorced in 1956.¹ He married, fourthly, Christine Mary Davis, daughter of George Frederick Davis, in 1957.¹ He died on 8 December 1966 at age 82.¹
     He was educated at Eton College, Windsor, Berkshire, England^G.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the 7th Hussars.¹ He gained the rank of Lieutenant in the Hertfordshire Imperial Yeomanry.¹ He gained the rank of Temporary Captain in the Remount Service.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Earl of Essex [E., 1661] on 25 September 1916.¹ He succeeded as the 9th Baron Capell of Hadham, co. Hereford [E., 1641] on 25 September 1916.¹ He succeeded as the 8th Viscount Malden, co. Essex [E., 1661] on 25 September 1916.¹

     Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman was the daughter of William Russell Stewart Freeman.² She married Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex, son of George Devereux de Vere Capell, 7th Earl of Essex and Ellenor Harriet Maria Harford, on 28 September 1905.¹ She and Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex were divorced in 1926.¹ She died on 30 October 1955.¹
     Her married name became Capell. After her marriage, Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman was styled as Countess of Essex on 25 September 1916.

     William Russell Stewart Freeman held the office of Deputy Lieutenant (D.L.)¹ He held the office of Justice of the Peace (J.P.)¹ He lived at The Manor House, Wingrave, Buckinghamshire, England^G.¹

     Mary Reeve Ward is the daughter of F. Gibson Ward.² She married George Aston Strutt, son of George Strutt.¹ She married William Rodney Winterbottom, son of William Dickson Winterbottom.¹ She married, thirdly, Reginald George de Vere Capell, 9th Earl of Essex, son of Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex and Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman, on 2 March 1937.¹ She and Reginald George de Vere Capell, 9th Earl of Essex were divorced in 1957.¹
     Her married name became Strutt.¹ Her married name became Winterbottom.¹ Her married name became Capell.

     F. Gibson Ward lived at Rosemount, Bermuda.¹

     Eleonore Magdalena Gräfin von Hohenlohe-Weikersheim was born on 22 March 1635 at Worms, Rheinland-Pfalz, Germany^G.¹ She was the daughter of Georg Friedrich Graf von Hohenlohe-Weikersheim.¹ She married Heinrich Friedrich Graf zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg, son of Philipp Ernst Graf zu Hohenlohe-Langenburg and Anna Maria Gräfin zu Solms-Sonnenwalde, on 25 January 1652 at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ She died on 14 November 1657 at age 22 at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹ She was buried at Langenburg, Baden-Württemburg, Germany.¹

     Nona Isobel Miller was born on 31 January 1906.² She was the daughter of David Wilson Miller.¹ She married, firstly, Francis Sydney Smythe before 1957.¹ She married, secondly, Reginald George de Vere Capell, 9th Earl of Essex, son of Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex and Mary Eveline Stewart Freeman, on 14 November 1957.¹ She died in January 1997 at Leighton Buzzard, Bedfordshire, England^G.^1,2
     From before 1957, her married name became Smythe.¹ From 14 November 1957, her married name became Capell. After her marriage, Nona Isobel Miller was styled as Countess of Essex on 8 December 1966.

     David Wilson Miller lived at Christchurch, New Zealand^G.¹

     Alys Montgomery Falkiner was the daughter of Robert Hayes Falkiner.² She married, firstly, Ernest Scott-Brown.¹ She married, secondly, Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex, son of George Devereux de Vere Capell, 7th Earl of Essex and Ellenor Harriet Maria Harford, on 10 February 1926.¹ She and Algernon George de Vere Capell, 8th Earl of Essex were divorced in 1950.¹ She died on 19 March 1977.¹
     Her married name became Scott-Brown.¹ From 10 February 1926, her married name became Capell. After her marriage, Alys Montgomery Falkiner was styled as Countess of Essex on 10 February 1926.
